Marketplace Fee Calculator

Enter your item's price and costs and instantly see what is left after commission, payment fee, shipping and returns on every channel.

Your item

Spreads monthly fees across your orders. Leave empty to exclude them.

Result per channel

Assumptions: you can deduct input VAT, so fees count net. Returned goods can be resold. Advertising, storage and fulfilment services of the marketplaces are not included. All information without guarantee.

What is really left of the selling price

Every marketplace calculates differently: Amazon tiers its referral fee by category and charges a minimum fee, eBay charges a fixed amount per order, Etsy separates transaction and payment fees, ABOUT YOU picks the rate by price band. If you sell the same item on several channels, only a direct comparison shows where the most is left. That is what this calculator is for.

How to use the calculator

  1. Enter the selling price, the shipping the customer pays, the purchase price and your own shipping costs.
  2. Add your return rate and the cost per return. With your number of orders per month, monthly fees are included pro rata.
  3. Choose the right category on each card. For special terms, enter your own commission rate.

Which fees are included

  • Commission per category, with price tiers and minimum fee where the marketplace has them
  • Payment fees, unless they are already included in the commission
  • Fixed fees per order or per item
  • Basic fees such as a monthly plan, spread across your orders
  • Returns: your shipping and return costs and the fees the marketplace keeps when it refunds

Not included are advertising costs, storage and fulfilment services of the marketplaces (for example FBA), international fees and currency surcharges. Anything else a card leaves out or that is not yet confirmed is noted directly below it.

Profit, margin and break-even price

Profit per sale is your net revenue minus purchase price, shipping costs and fees, weighted by your return rate. The margin relates it to net revenue. The break-even price shows from which gross price a sale on a channel pays off at all. The “At a glance” overview sorts all channels by profit.

Where the fee rates come from

We took all rates from the marketplaces' official fee pages and added the source and check date. Marketplaces change their fees regularly, so check your own statements before important pricing decisions. All information without guarantee.

Changes to the fee rates

  • 14/10/2026: First release: fee rates for Amazon, eBay, Etsy, OTTO, Kaufland, ABOUT YOU and PayPal taken from the official fee pages.
FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About the Fee Calculator

Is the fee calculator free?

Yes. You use the calculator without signing up and without an email address, as often as you like.

Are my entries stored?

No. Prices and costs are calculated exclusively in your browser. We neither receive nor store any of it.

How up to date are the fee rates?

The rates come from the marketplaces' official fee pages. Each card names the source and the date of the last check. We document changes at the bottom of this page. If you have special terms, enter your own commission rate.

Why does the calculator count fees net?

Most sellers can deduct the VAT on marketplace fees as input tax. Then the net fee is the actual cost. If you are a small business under the German Kleinunternehmer rule, your actual costs are higher than shown.

What does the break-even price mean?

It is the lowest selling price at which you make no loss, given your costs, fees and return rate. The shipping the customer pays stays the same.
